Jeep

Originally produced by Willys-Overland Motors as a light four-wheel-drive car for the US Army and allies during the World War II, the iconic brand is now owned by Chrysler. While more refined than in the past, Jeeps continue the traditional design and off-road capabilities of their predecessors.

Toledo Jeep Plant Preparing Over 1,000 Layoffs

After quite a bit of speculation, Stellantis confirmed on Wednesday that it would be cutting roughly 1,100 employees from the Jeep plant located in Toledo, Ohio. Due to slowing Jeep sales and rising vehicle inventories, the automaker had decided to eliminate a production shift in January.

Jeep Slashes Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Prices By Up To $7,000 for 2025

The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer might have some cool features, but their luxury-level price tags have made them a tough sell. Dealers have complained about slow sales due to the hulking SUVs’ MSRPs, while Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, has seen a sales slump across the board. The automaker is hoping to stop the bleeding with lower prices for Jeep’s flagship SUVs, but the move doesn’t make them significantly more affordable.

The Originator of the Duck Duck Jeep Movement Has Passed Away

One of the things that seems to divide Jeep owners more than other issues is the little rubber ducks seen on dashboards at trails across the country. While they seem to be everywhere now, “ducking” Jeeps is a relatively new phenomenon, having only started during the pandemic. Sadly, though, the person behind the cheerful movement recently passed away.

Stellantis to Lean On Jeep to Boost Sales and Revenues

We recently reported on the Jeep brand’s 23rd consecutive win as the nation’s most patriotic car brand. While that’s a big honor for any American automaker, Stellantis wants to capitalize on that equity by leaning on the Jeep brand to boost revenues. The company said it expects Jeep sales to grow by 50 percent globally over the next three years, aiming for 1.5 million units by 2027.

The Jeep Wrangler Sends the V8 Off With a Bang

Back in the early 1990s, when I was in high school, a friend’s dad owned an off-road parts distribution company, and we had a ton of fun with his Chevy big block-swapped Jeep CJ. Modified Jeeps are nothing new, but the automaker is jumping into the fray with a send-off model to honor the rowdy V8 it offered for the SUV’s last few model years.

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4XE Review – Getting Your Money’s Worth?

In general, I am on record as liking the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s one of the vehicles that I would consider buying with my own money.

I am not sure that same consideration extends to the electrified version. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE costs a pretty penny, especially when you opt for the off-road-oriented Trailhawk trim, and while I like the concept of plug-in hybrids in general, this one might not be worth the dough.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Review: A Refreshing Refresh

I was a latecomer to the Jeep lifestyle. As the bumper sticker says, I didn’t understand the Jeep thing. I’d briefly driven a couple of older ratty and rattly CJs in my time as a service writer a decade or so ago, trying to pinpoint suspension issues for the techs who were too busy not torquing lug nuts to actually do diagnoses. But the whole thing was an issue, each old Jeep driving poorly on-road - the only terrain I’d ever encountered on purpose.

But then I bought one when our minivan grew old and my bride expressed a desire for more wind-in-the-hair motoring on her commute. Four doors and toplessness seem to be mutually exclusive outside the offroader realm, so to the Stellantis dealer we went. And then I began to see what everyone else already knew.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler is refreshed, building upon the JL platform introduced in 2017 to much fanfare. Jeep sent journalists to southern Utah to experience the refreshed 2024 Jeep Wrangler in a variety of flavors in the terrain seemingly built for the Wrangler lifestyle. Is it still the one?

Stellantis Limiting Availability of Gasoline Models by State Emission Rules

Stellantis is reportedly no longer allocating gasoline-only vehicles to the fourteen states with leadership that has agreed to adhere to the emission standards set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). While the rules exceed federal standards, they’ve been embraced by coastal regions and beginning to influence how the industry does business.

For Stellantis brands (e.g. Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Ram, etc.) this means dealer allocation will prioritize powertrains based on how restrictive the local emissions standards happen to be.

Jeep Thrills: Customers Snapping Up 4xe Off-Roaders

Jeep Gave the Wrangler More Capability, Tech, and Style for 2024

Jeep Wrangler Recalled Over Extra Frame Stud

Jeep has issued a recall encompassing roughly 58,000 examples of the 2020-2023 Wrangler. Problem vehicles described in the relevant NHTSA documents were reportedly constructed with a frame stud that's allegedly superfluous and that can cause fires in the event of a crash. It’s kind of a weird recall campaign, as they typically don’t involve a vehicle having too many parts but rather totally absent or poorly implemented ones.

  • ToolGuy Doesn't matter, EVs don't work, even if they do I mean did they won't I mean wouldn't have the range to drive to the track. Plus the world is running out of electricity (and there is no way to make more). The panel gaps on EVs are aerodynamically problematic, especially Porsche. No one can afford EVs. There is no place (literally -no- place) to charge, and even if you do I mean could it will I mean would crash the U.S. electrical grid and there is no way to restart it, ever. Drivers will grow old and die waiting for the vehicle to charge. EV racing will never benefit the environment the way that ICE racing does and has and will. The batteries cost more than the vehicle and that cost goes up every minute. All electricity is dirty and nasty and not wholesome like petroleum. EVs are slow (as in the opposite of quick) and the point of a drag race is quick. I can't hear well because of ICE and what happens when a silent EV runs over me at the track? It is a good thing that the EV thing ended when it did and will never return. I for one am relieved.
