The 2025 Audi RS 3 Gets a Host of Updates But Retains Its Turbo-Five

The iconic Audi five-cylinder engine only powers one vehicle in the automaker’s lineup at the moment, and it’s getting a decent glow-up for the 2025 model year. The new RS 3 lands with updated styling, a refreshed interior, and new options, though its price is likely to climb with the changes.

Audi didn’t mess with the RS 3’s powertrain, which is just fine. It’s a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder making 394 horsepower and 369 pounds of torque. It’s paired with a dual-clutch transmission and Audi’s excellent Quattro all-wheel drive system. Those are European specs, however, and America’s car may come with a bit more horsepower, and Audi gave the RS 3 a new exhaust for even more of that sweet five-cylinder sound.

The car got a new grille with a diamond-mesh pattern, and the grille surround has been reworked. Audi installed new daytime running lights, new taillights, and a carbon fiber rear diffuser.

A new flat-top and -bottom steering wheel is standard, bringing haptic touch controls and updated drive mode selection buttons. The 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster runs Audi’s Virtual Cockpit system, which got an update in the 2025 RS 3 with new shift lights and graphics. Nappa leather-wrapped Audi sport seats come standard, and the car has a new interior fragrance chemistry for a striking “new car smell.”

The RS 3’s U.S. launch, which will likely happen early in 2025. Expect pricing to come in slightly higher than the 2024 model’s $62,300 starting MSRP.

Maybe they can paint the front bumper and give it the third pedal it’s been missing from the start.

Love what's under the hood, but yeah, there's something about that front that's a step back from the 2024 model. The 2025 S3 has the same thing. The Audi logo is jacked up to the top and that makes the opening look that much larger.

And I'm surprised an interior shot was included. Thank you Audi for not going down the tablet glued to the dashboard look that the rest of the Germans have been using. Things actually look integrated.

  • ChristianWimmer I love how in this day and age something as simple as frigging car door handles have tons of electronics and built in complications stuffed into them…. It’s a frigging door handle! Why make them complicated?
  • Douglas How does the road/wind noise (and CVT groaning) compare to the outgoing Kicks? I had a 2023 Kicks SV as a rental car recently for about 4 weeks, and actually grew quite attached to it. Around town it was a fun commuter, but long interstate trips were loud and tiring.
