Acura appears to be the latest brand that’s rethinking its electrification strategy. Despite having recently showcased the revived RSX Prototype during Monterey Car Week as an electrified and software-defined crossover — rather than the sporty hatchback it used to be — Honda leadership seems keen to move the luxury brand back toward traditional powertrains.

Acura revived the Integra nameplate a few years ago, marking the return of the sporty car to the automaker’s lineup, but its most recent revival doesn’t follow the same formula as the vehicle that wore the badge before. The RSX is returning as an electric crossover that competes with the Tesla Model Y, and Acura recently teased the upcoming EV.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Honda will soon be recalling 294,612 inside the United States over an assumed software defect pertaining to the fuel injection electronic control unit. This follows customer reports that select Honda and Acura vehicles were suffering from power losses and stalled engines.

The Honda Prologue has been selling like hotcakes, thanks to aggressive incentives and the federal EV tax credit. Acura now wants in on that action and is offering a lease deal on a 2024 ZDX that could make it less than $300 per month.

Though details are scant, we know that Acura is bringing back the RSX.

Or, perhaps more accurately, the RSX nameplate.

The Acura RSX is on its way back after almost 20 years in hiding, but this won’t be an enthusiast-friendly two-door car with an available manual transmission like its predecessor. Like so many great things in the auto industry, the RSX is returning as a crossover, and this time it won’t have VTEC.

This past week I've been behind the wheel of a 2024 Acura TLX Type-S. Stylish, sporty, and quick -- this is what a luxury sport sedan should be.

Acura recently announced the lightly updated 2025 RDX SUV, which gained several features but kept its controversial touchpad infotainment system. Now, the automaker is announcing pricing for the upcoming vehicle, which will land with few updates instead of the expected midcycle refresh.

The base Acura RDX starts at $46,050, a $750 increase over 2024’s price after the $1,350 destination fee. The RDX with Technology Package starts at $48,050, $300 more than before, and the RDX A-Spec costs $51,650. Stepping up to the RDX with Advance Package pushes the price to $53,800 to start, and the range-topping RDX A-Spec with Advance Package.

Today we go back to one of my favorite sport hatches with a 2003 Acura RSX.

The Acura Integra Type S brought a notable performance upgrade over the standard car, but the automaker isn’t done tinkering with it. The Integra Type S HRC Prototype debuted at the Quail this morning, showing Acura’s vision of factory performance parts that could eventually reach owners’ cars.

Electric vehicle market share is growing in the U.S., but it hasn’t climbed anywhere near the heights seen in other markets. Chinese car buyers are among the most prolific EV and PHEV buyers in the world, and the country recently saw their sales numbers eclipse those of gas vehicles for the first time.

China refers to the two vehicle types as “new energy vehicles,” or NEVs. Their July sales increased 37 percent over July 2023, accounting for almost 51 percent of new car sales. The numbers also represent a 28.6 percent jump between June and July of this year.

The sporty Acura RDX is getting an overhaul for 2025, which will bring updated exterior styling, new infotainment features, and better interior storage. That said, one of the SUV’s most annoying features will remain when it hits dealers’ lots later this month.

Acura gave the RDX a new grille and gloss-black exterior trim. New wheel designs are available, including the standard 19-inch Berlina Black offerings. SUVs equipped with the Advance Package get a unique wheel design and body-colored lower trim. A-Spec models step up to 20-inch wheels with a gray finish.

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is, on paper, the commuting enthusiast's dream car. Good handling, quick, stylish, and equipped with a manual transmission.

It also is easily marked as the grown-up version of the Honda Civic Type R.

Today we bring you a true legend -- pun fully intended. This clean-looking 1988 Acura Legend has been in this seller's hands for three decades and now it can be yours.

Despite a few styling tweaks and some tech upgrades for 2025, the three-row Acura MDX continues to hover around the $50,000 price point.

Spend any time on various social media subcultures populated by car enthusiasts and you’ll certainly be confronted by the discussion topic known as “The Two Car Solution.” Sometimes, the phrasing is different, and sometimes, you’ll be presented with limiting factors such as “Pick the two best cars for all driving tasks from the same automaker,” but invariably, it assumes the respondent shall choose to sate each and every driving need with these two vehicles.

Looking ahead to the 2024 calendar year, Honda has laid out some of its plans for the forthcoming 12 months. While we’re sure they’ve still a few things up their sleeve (after all, the phrase “We can’t comment on future product” is a PR mainstay), the news does give us a good idea as to what’s in store – plus a shot of the 2025 Civic Hybrid.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is expanding a probe into over 500,000 late-model Hondas that could be suffering from a steering defect. Reports indicate that 2023 Honda CR-Vs, 2023 Acura Integras, and 2022-2023 Honda Civics could be affected. However, no formal recall announcement has been made and likely won’t be until the investigation has concluded.

Some of it was justified, some unfair, and some I disagreed with but could see the reasoning. Yet it all melted away when I finally had the chance to pilot a 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec.

The Acura TLX – and the RLX before it – has long been a competent premium sedan with somewhat of an identity crisis. Straddling the line between luxury and performance, the car doesn’t go far enough in either direction to be particularly memorable, but it’s quick and comfortable and offers a good deal more value than its European rivals. Acura gave the car a much-needed mid-cycle refresh for 2024 as it enters the fourth year of its second generation.

While Acura recently unveiled its first production EV, the 2024 ZDX crossover, during Monterey Car Week, the model didn’t quite reach the ridiculous levels of extravagance the event is known for. Fortunately, the company had something in its back pocket with the “Performance Electric Vision Design” concept it teased in tandem with the all-electric ZDX. 

Honda and Acura have been slower than most automakers to the punch when it comes to EVs, but the Japanese companies are working to accelerate their efforts. Partnering with General Motors is part of the process, and the first vehicles to come out of that pairing are the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX. Today, Acura gave more detail on its electric SUV, which will land in 2024. 

Styling for the upcoming Acura ZDX was hewn at the brand’s design studio in SoCal, making the annual soirée at Monterey a logical location for its unveiling.
