Today we bring you wagon goodness with this 2008 Volkswagen Passat VR6 4Motion.

This one has sat for a bit because of a coolant leak, so it will need to be towed. It appears a pipe cracked (as opposed to a crack pipe). The seller says it didn't overheat.

The oil has been changed regularly and the timing chains have also been replaced.

There's a tow hitch, the mileage is 174K, the front fender has a bit of rust, and the car came from Germany.

You can find this one for $2,500 in Pennsylvania. Click here for more.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

It's lovely but I'd be worried about it all the time. Best to keep an old Corolla around so you won't miss work.

  • MaintenanceCosts One of the cleaner-looking 200+k mile cars I've seen. Still fills me with fear and loathing.
  • MaintenanceCosts Looking forward to the ad-free Superb Owl.(Also some kind of football game which my hometown team is favored to win, despite having Joe Lunchpail as their quarterback.)
