Hyundai Recalled the Genesis GV60 for Windshield Trim Detachment Issue
The Genesis GV60 is being recalled for an issue that could cause the top of the windshield molding to detach. The recall impacts almost 8,000 vehicles from the 2023 through 2025 model years. While the problem is estimated to affect only one percent of the recall population, the action touches almost every GV60 sold in the U.S. so far.
It’s important to note that we’re talking about windshield trim pieces here, not the actual windshield flying off. Recall documentation notes that the stainless steel upper molding on the windshield may have been produced without sufficient adhesive material, caused by an issue with temperature control during manufacturing. Drivers may notice wind noise or a whistling sound from the windshield if the issue is present.
Hyundai said it had received 112 reports of trim detachment in the U.S. market, but there have been no accidents or injuries related to the problem. Owners will be notified by mail soon and can have their vehicles inspected and the part replaced by a Genesis dealer. A fix will be provided for free, regardless of the vehicle’s glass warranty status.
This is the fifth recall for some GV60 models. It saw previous recall actions for a digital gauge cluster failure, two times for a loss of drive power from a damaged charging unit, and for an issue with the rearview camera.

This trend of becoming 'unglued' has been well documented by the scholars at the OED. It has the classic hockey stick presentation so climate change and the loss of the Arctic ice sheet are likely involved. I suggest keeping an eye on automotive upholstery fabrics and door hinges too. Buy more EVs. It's our only hope.
