It's not just Ford that has a recall involving pickup trucks today. Nissan is recalling more than 13,000 Frontiers.

Nissan is recalling 13,719 model year 2025 Frontier vehicles because a software logic error may cause the daytime running lights to dim when the idle start-stop system restarts the engine. This does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108. Dealers will update the engine control module software at no cost. Notification letters are expected to be sent September 17, 2025. Recall number R25C3.

What would we do without government telling us how bright our DRLs have to be at all times?!??! This recall ranks right up there with the one on the VW ID Buzz for the third row seat that 'could' fit 3 but is only designed for 2.

If DRLs were as bright as searchlights - or functioned as colored strobe lights - you'd want some regulation of that. Similarly, if the mfr says they shine with so many lumens, but are actually weaker, then the mfr hasn't given you what they promised.

That's why the government has rules for lights.
