Used Car Of The Day: 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SL
Today we go back to the end of the disco era for this 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SL.
This one appears to be lightly driven and the transmission was replaced with a rebuild a few years ago.
There's not much more to the copy other than the car runs well -- and the pics provided seem to show that it's in good shape.
If you're interested in this ride, you can find it in Indiana for $10,000. Click here to see more.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

don't mind used cars, and the 'used car of the day' features, to me, some desirable alternatives to new vehicles. However, as nice as the cars are, I can't help but wonder about upkeep, parts availability, cost of parts, and the inevitable repair that's better off in a pro's garage, etc. Even a good deal will sink under maintenance costs.
'$9,000 apiece or thereabouts.' Ouch.
