QOTD: Should Ford Bring The Taurus Back?
A simple and self-explanatory one today -- should Ford bring the Taurus back?
The car is still sold in the Middle East, and it is getting a refresh. It's a mid-size, not a full-size. Should it come back to North America as a Fusion replacement?
Keeping it simple today, since it is a Friday. You know what to do.
Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Hah! Ford had a great thing going with the 2010 era and forward Taurus. Great cars, lots of tech and the SHO was so fun to drive! Oh and they looked great too! That 3.5 twin turbo eco-boost was a joy, the transfer case was a disaster but that could be remedied! It's still shocking to me that even today no American car company can compete with Toyota and Honda with a 4-door sedan! Reliability seems to be the Achilles heel for both Ford and Chevy, to bad but buyers are steering clear after being burnt by poor reliability one to many times and can you blame them?
Yes! Yes it should! I am so sick of looking at SUVs and CUVs that all look the same. And while they are at resurrecting Taurus, how bout adding some colors other than grayscale. That goes for interior, too. I have owned 6 Taurus/Sables over the years. Most were new. I remember my favorite color combo of the lot was Pacific Green (teal) over Lt Willow Green (lt teal) on our 1996 GL. It was very attractive and never got old in the 5 years I owned it. So I vote YES to bringing the Taurus back, and as Mrs. Betty Slocombe would say, "And I am unanimous in that!"
