We have a small recall involving the Rivian R1T and R1S.

Rivian has issued a safety recall covering a small number of R1T and R1S vehicles due to a potential issue with the second-row seat belt system.

The recall affects certain 2022–2025 Rivian R1T pickup trucks and 2022–2026 Rivian R1S SUVs, with a total of 869 vehicles potentially impacted. According to Rivian, the bolts that secure the second-row driver- and passenger-side seat belt retractor assemblies may not have been properly tightened during assembly. If the retractor is not securely mounted, the seat belt may not adequately restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

To address the issue, Rivian will inspect the affected vehicles and tighten the seat belt retractor bolts as necessary. The repair will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning March 9, 2026.

The recall is listed under NHTSA campaign number 26V009000. Owners with questions can contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4261 and reference recall number FSAM-1795.

I have a set of wrenches, this doesn't scare me.

I don't own a Rivian but if I did, I'd just ask them for the torque specs and fix it myself.
