We have a heavy-duty truck recall.

Chrysler* (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 2,885 vehicles, including certain 2026 Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis models. The instrument panel may show an incorrect brake system warning light, which does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101 for controls and displays.

Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 25, 2025. Chrysler’s recall number is 79C, and customer service can be reached at 800-853-1403.

Disclosure -- this article was partially written by AI and edited by a staffer.

Ed. note -- The original NHTSA recall does say Chrysler, not Stellantis. It's not an AI error, at least not on our end.

What bothers me is the fact that the whole instrument cluster has to be replaced. The manufacturer saves pennies per unit and passes on re&re costs to consumers.

  • MaintenanceCosts One of the cleaner-looking 200+k mile cars I've seen. Still fills me with fear and loathing.
  • MaintenanceCosts Looking forward to the ad-free Superb Owl.(Also some kind of football game which my hometown team is favored to win, despite having Joe Lunchpail as their quarterback.)
  • Foaming Solvent Rivian, specifically the soon-to-be-available R2.
  • 1995 SC From any analysis I've seen so far the big winner here is Tesla, which is ironic if that comes to pass lol
  • Foaming Solvent "Governor Carney."As Eric Hoffer said, "Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength."
