Recall Alert: 2021-2022 Ram Trucks

We close our weekend with a recall alert involving 2021-2022 Ram trucks.

Chrysler/Stellantis is recalling 532 trucks from the 2021–2022 model years, including Ram 1500 through 5500 models, because the steering column control module could prevent the driver’s airbag from deploying. This means the vehicles do not meet federal crash-protection requirements and could increase the risk of injury in a collision.

Dealers will install a new steering column control module at no cost. Notification letters are expected to go out on December 11, 2025. VINs were added to NHTSA’s lookup tool on November 13, 2025. Owners can contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 for more information.

This one affects a small number of vehicles. It would be interesting to know what percentage of owners responds to each recall -- and all of the car companies, GM, Stellantis, Toyota, Ford -- see to be suffering from them in large numbers.

  • 532 .. thats it ? not bad really for dodge/ram standards. Ford recalls discontinued cars for plastic trim (toreass)..

  • Bookish So some lawyer comes up with a scam to shake down the auto industry and the NYT makes it an ethical crusade against Ford. And you repeat it moralistically and uncritically.

  • AZFelix This generation of Cadillac articles also shows consistent placement of photos relative to the corresponding text.
  • Biff Finally the chickens have come home to roost. I have been saying this for three years: just wait until the EV’ers have to pay the road tax. Lets not forget that it’s California we are talking about and they have never met a tax they didn’t like. Plus it’s “the rich” buying new cars so its a double “lets tax’em!” The solution is simple enough. Have EV’s go into emissions stations as part of license plate renewal. Except here record the milage and get a bill for the cost. The rate should be around 1.5X the comparable gas size vehicle due to added weight. Lets watch the progessive politics swallow this one!
  • Big Oil You could of had a V8.
