Today we bring you a 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider that appears to have been recently restored.

This one was restored 14 years ago and has been recently repainted.

It also has new rear coil springs and bushings.

It appears to run and drive well enough to be used for the occasional long commute, though the seller says the car had some minor rust before it was restored.

I wonder how nice these are to drive in reality with the near vertical shifter.

  The Alfa Romeo forums refer to it as the “ape” driver position particularly how the steering wheel is positioned. The Civic EP3 hatchback also had a similar, controversial for Honda fans gear lever placement.

  The last one I drove was old enough not to have a console around the shifter, but assuming the lever still bends down into the transmission, the shifting is actually much more natural in feel than it might appear. The gearbox has a positive feel too. I've also driven one from closer to the middle of production, but it was a long time ago and I don't remember if there was a big gear lever surround. The 1969 model just had a simple rubber boot and a long lever. When I drove the 1979 Alfa, there were still RWD Toyotas everywhere that set the standard for gear-shifts, and I don't recall the Alfa making a bad impression. I'd say they were better than any VW-Porsche-Audi or Saab products and probably comparable to BMWs in overall shift competence.

Redapple2 I realized the average person is stupid. 1---- i MUST have a vehicle 2 x as big as i really need (a massive pig up truck, or Tahoe pig) 2----- I am entitled to cheap gas. ENTITLED. It is the end of the friggin world as It has been alluded to above. But you see, gas comes from the earth in far away places. Sometimes events interupt the marketplace. I believe this war will last a short time and the markets will revert to lower levels. It s time this unstated - sotovoce war Iran has had with seemingly everybody, is ended. Before they have nukes. This is clear even to a child. (they already have near ICBM with the strike on Diego Garcia) Outside of CAL, gas this week averaged ~~ $3.85. (CA has insane taxes and gas is refined mostly - out the country (Japan, or trans shipped thru carribean ports)). >>>>>>>>The national average (after inflation adj.) for gas was HIGHER THAN THIS FROM 2005 THROUGH 2015. (except fot 2 years that were a tad lower than the bar i set above). Grow up please
Andarris Here in the Toronto area I haven't seen a 2006-2012 with intact rocker pannels for over two years now. I presume everywhere around the Great Lakes is the same ? They were super cheap dhring the first two years of the pandemic - could get one with less than 85K for around $6500 certified or a little higher mileage for $5000. Glad I skipped it, even in 2021 some of the 10's &11's were displaying corosion like you'd see on a 7 year older Impala, Camry or Accord. Also the mid-model switch to EPS made me balk at the few clean ones I found.
Kjhkjlhkjhkljh kljhjkhjklhkjh I do not ever have delays. I only fly out of PDX or EUG to LAS or OAK and OGG then back .. have never been delayed in the last ?30-ish? trips to vegas/disneyland/maui/cruise ship vacations.... EUG has contract tsa so we never have any TSA delays. unsure which airports have PRIVATE contract TSA that is UNAFFECTED by the deadlock that i HOPE NEVER EVER END.
