Charging Ahead: The Mainstream EV Transition Starts Here

How do you get food retailers to buy into EV charging? Not by measuring success with electrons sold, but cups of coffee. Seriously.

Gideon van Dijk CEO at Chargetrip joins The Urban EV Podcast to share his take on the importance of charging infrastructure, the psychology behind EV adoption, and the innovative solutions ChargeTrip offers to improve the EV driving experience. Gideon also shares insights on the current state of the EV market in Europe, the utilization of charging stations, and the future of electrification in logistics and commercial vehicles. The conversation highlights the need for better utilization of existing chargers and the role of technology in facilitating the transition to electric mobility.

The Urban EV Podcast is about electric vehicle ownership in a city -- and how that can be daunting when you don't have access to a plug. We explore urban charging infrastructure along with the day-to-day experience and economics of public charging your vehicle in a big city.

The TTAC Creators Series tells stories and amplifies creators from all corners of the car world, including culture, dealerships, collections, modified builds and more.

When first in public places, those Tesla chargers made their drivers look like parasites as they all scampered to any open (subsidized) charger, like ticks on a dog.

Evolution in parasites rewarded those who did not kill or significantly degrade the host, forcing them to find another. Mass conversion to EVs is not exhibiting the same sense. The feebleness of the grid and electrical generation has failed to grow to support greater conversion to EVs. What other grid will they go to if this one is significantly degraded or inadequate?

Nothing is free, and where I live, 60% of electricity is still generated by coal or natural gas, making your EV a simple demonstration of a poor grasp of Newton's laws and the conservation of mass, despite billing schemes claiming to provide you with green energy.

  • MaintenanceCosts Looking forward to the ad-free Superb Owl.(Also some kind of football game which my hometown team is favored to win, despite having Joe Lunchpail as their quarterback.)

  • 1995 SC From any analysis I've seen so far the big winner here is Tesla, which is ironic if that comes to pass lol
