Today we go hot hatch with this 2002 Ford Focus SVT.

The owner has done significant work, replacing the suspension, both drive shafts, all four wheel bearings, all four calipers (and perhaps pads/rotors, it's unclear from the wording), and the alternator. The car has BC coilovers and the tires are about a year old.

The T-belt and clutch have been replaced, too, and the seller says they've been diligent with oil changes and run synthetic. The valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket have been replaced, and the oil-cooler line has, too.

If you're interested in this one, you can find it for sale in Piscataway, New Jersey for $5,400.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I had a non-SVT Focus of this gen back in the '00s. It was a really fun little car to drive, and for me at least, very reliable. I always wanted to drive the SVT, I bet it was a blast. This one seems to have been taken care of, and the price isn't too crazy. He can keep those coilovers though
