Used Car of the Day: 1999 Land Rover Discovery
Today we bring you a 1999 Land Rover Discovery.
The seller says it has some "small" issues but runs well and the A/C works. The interior and frame seem to be in good shape.
We don't have a mileage, at least that I can see, but the seller says he/she has been daily driving it.
The seller is moving across country and asking either $4,000 or perhaps a trade involving British motorcycles. You can find this one in Pennsylvania and see more by clicking here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I want a Disco I so bad, but my level of automotive masochism only reaches as far as a Ford 5.4 3V. I'm almost never a supporter of "LS the world", but these are a great use case for that and then the only thing left to worry about is anything and everything electrical.
I'd buy a Mitsu Montero for my larger, stadium seating SUV with some offroad chops needs instead.
You can find a nice first generation Nissan XTerra for $4k. It’s a rugged very reliable on and off roader that doesn’t have the issues that crop up with Land Rover ownership.
