Used Car Of The Day: 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

Today we have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo that clearly needs some work.

Remember, the purpose of this feature is to show interesting vehicles, even if they need a lot of work. And this Rodeo does. The paint clearly needs work, the windshield is cracked, and while the seller says a lot works, the vehicle doesn't go forward because it needs a new transmission.

Apparently, the engine is strong and the A/C blows cold and there's no rust, at least.

The seller says it will be scrapped if someone doesn't step in to save it.

I'm pretty sure those are the ones with the severe frame rot and are garbage. Even if I'm wrong, the front fenders and hood appear to be primered and not painted so that means it was an accident. Yeah, this is as beater as it gets.

Jeff S Doubt we will see any new vehicle in the low 20s unless it is an EV and Chinese but wouldn't count on that happening. Not against more affordable vehicles but don't foresee that happening in the immediate future.

The Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla If the new REO actually happens, and it happens roughly where their target price sits, but at least below $30k, I think that is a great inexpensive truck that would solve the truck needs of the vast majority of current truck buyers.As for cars...we need CARS. Not stupid SUVs. Not ugly crossover blobs. CARS. Coupes, sedans, wagons. Start building something midsized, and make the price point in the mid 30s or lower. AWD optional. And yes, I know Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai/Kia still make sedans. But GM, Ford, and Chrysler/Stellantis need to get on the ball and bring out some competition.
