Used Car of the Day: 1995 Alfa Romeo 164 QV

Today we've got something that intrigues me -- a 1995 Alfa Romeo 164 QV.

This one appears to run and drive well, with only some minor issues. The mileage is about 110K and there is a long list of maintenance that the seller has performed.

Wedgy, 1990s Italian style awaits.

If you're interested, you can find this one in Washington state for $14,000. Click here for more, including the list of maintenance that has been done.

You might have to get to this car before I do.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

A sales guy we knew at a Porsche dealership that started selling Alfa Romeos talked my dad out of getting one. He said that they were beautiful and lots of fun but nothing he would buy himself.

For that money you can get a Giulia. Not a particularly good one, but better and more reliable than this.

Why would anyone want a used Giulia?

  • The original ToolGuy™ Doubt we will see any new vehicle in the low 20s unless it is an EV and Chinese but wouldn't count on that happening. Not against more affordable vehicles but don't foresee that happening in the immediate future.Jeffs do you do any research before making ignorant comments? We have brand new vehicles sold today in the low 20s including the Hyundai Venue that starts at $20,550.
  • KwikShiftPro4X That ship has sailed. The new cheap/base car will be $30G.
