QOTD: Who Should Jaguar Hire To Lead Design?
Reports indicate that Jaguar let go of its chief designer, Gerry McGovern.
Assuming these reports are true, who should replace him?
I know car designers aren't necessarily household names, but some are known, at least among car folk like us. Ralph Gilles or Ian Callum, for example.
So, should Jaguar hire a big "name" designer? Or go with an up-and-comer that most folks in the automotive press haven't heard of?
Heck, should it bring Callum back?

- Marty S I have Car Play and a factory navigation system on my car and use them pretty much interchangeably. But when i rent a car, I always make sure they are equipped with Car Play so I can use Google Maps to navigate. The current Toyota Camry's and Chevrolet Malibu's have this, but i don't think they are usually equipped with factory navigation. So if you can't use car play, you would have to opt for a more expensive model with navigation, if the rental company even has one.Car Play is great to use for navigation on rental cars as it incorporates all of your previous locations, and works very well.I would certainly avoid renting GM cars without car play for this reason.

Hungary got permission from Trump to continue building their Russian nuclear project. EU urges France to share some electricity with Spain and Portugal. While in Germany, demolition teams taking down cooling columns of closed nuclear power plants. Good luck, guys.

Lots of negative comments about Jaguar. I hope they make it, but what can they do at this point? They are stuck with an all electric vehicle and the market has moved away from that. They are probably also stuck with an unattractive design, like the -00- concept. Do they have the ability to redesign it?
They could have improved their attractive sedan line, but abandoned it instead. The factories have apparently switched over to Land Rover production.
Lots of really bad management decisions. What is their plan at this point? I am a fan, but probably priced out of the brand for future offerings, which don't seem to be attractive in any event. I will stick with my current Jags for now, which are running fine.
By the way, i think the F-Type was great, and the XE and XF sedans, with the last interior upgrades, would have been fantastic if they had installed better powerplants, or at least kept the ones they had, instead of downgrading them.
