Today's recall involves the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Volkswagen is recalling 3,138 model-year 2025 Tiguan vehicles due to a potential issue with the passenger occupant detection system. A wiring fault may cause the system to incorrectly detect an occupied front passenger seat, which can result in the front passenger air bag being deactivated when it should be active.

Volkswagen advises owners not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat until the issue is repaired. Dealers will inspect and repair the affected wiring harness in the front passenger seat at no cost. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on February 6, 2026. VINs were made searchable on NHTSA’s website on December 12, 2025. Owners with questions can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298, referencing recall number 74HE.

  • Jonathan No. Tires blow out, engines stall, animals run out into the road, people are easily distracted, and it puts people's lives in unnecessary danger. Besides, no one should be in that big of a hurry anyway. Instead of unlimited speed on rural roads, I'd honestly like to see more law enforcement out handing out tickets. We have some TERRIBLE drivers here (South Carolina).
  • SCE to AUX Never heard of him, which shows how long it's been since I followed NASCAR. Private aviation is over 100 times more dangerous than commercial flying, so be careful out there.
  • SCE to AUX BS. Wear a seat belt.
  • SCE to AUX Sure. Freedom.
  • SCE to AUX My family drove through AZ back in 1976 when the speed limit was 55, and my dad stuck to it to save gas. So I developed patience. The 302 Maverick (yes, the original) only got 18-20 mpg on the highway, so its 15-gallon tank didn't take you far.I stayed at 70 while pulling a trailer there in the summer of 2010, since I was already getting only 12 mpg and I had no interest in having equipment problems in 115° weather. I don't care what speed they allow, but I probably wouldn't exceed 80 anyway. Personally, I love the scenery of the Arizona highways and feel no need to rush through it. Maybe I'd feel different as a resident.
