Recall Alert: 2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV
General Motors is recalling 2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EVs.
General Motors is recalling about 81,000 examples of the 2025–2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV because the car may not be making enough noise when it’s creeping along. According to NHTSA, the pedestrian alert system doesn’t create a clear enough change in volume between a stop and low-speed movement, which means it may not adequately warn pedestrians that the vehicle is in motion. That puts it out of compliance with federal rules requiring EVs and hybrids to emit a minimum level of sound at low speeds.
The fix is straightforward. GM will update the body control module software, either at the dealer or through an over-the-air update, at no cost to owners. Notification letters are scheduled to go out on February 2, 2026. Owners with questions can contact GM directly, and affected VINs have already been posted to NHTSA’s website.

My parents had a 1961 blue-white Nomad so I'm partial to that color scheme. Too bad it's on a Equinox.
A 396 with straight pipes should be able to fix the noiseless issue. Might be hard to squeeze in though.
