Today's recall involves 2020-2023 Hyundai Sonatas.
Hyundai is recalling about 85,000 Sonata models from 2020–2023 because a faulty check valve may allow air into the fuel tank. This can cause the tank to swell and touch hot exhaust components, which may melt the tank and increase the risk of a fire. Dealers will replace the check valve and inspect the fuel tank and engine control software, making repairs as needed at no cost. Owner notification letters are scheduled for January 16, 2026.
