Mitsubishi Recalls Outlanders

Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling 91,697 Outlander PHEV (2018–2022) and Outlander (2014–2020) vehicles in certain U.S. states due to a risk that the liftgate gas spring cylinders may corrode, lose pressure, and either rupture or cause the liftgate to fall unexpectedly.

The recall affects vehicles sold or registered in 27 states and the District of Columbia. Dealers will replace both liftgate gas springs at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 6, 2025. The recall reference number is SR-25-002. Owners can contact Mitsubishi customer service at 1-888-648-7820.

Biff Finally the chickens have come home to roost. I have been saying this for three years: just wait until the EV’ers have to pay the road tax. Lets not forget that it’s California we are talking about and they have never met a tax they didn’t like. Plus it’s “the rich” buying new cars so its a double “lets tax’em!” The solution is simple enough. Have EV’s go into emissions stations as part of license plate renewal. Except here record the milage and get a bill for the cost. The rate should be around 1.5X the comparable gas size vehicle due to added weight. Lets watch the progessive politics swallow this one!
