Sales data for most automakers has come in. We've prepped a chart to look back at what happened in Q3, 2025.

U.S. auto sales showed broad gains, with most major automakers reporting year-over-year increases. Toyota led the traditional brands with sales up 15.9 percent, while Ram rose 26 percent and Jeep climbed 11 percent, helping lift Stellantis overall by six percent. Among other legacy automakers, BMW and Ford each posted solid growth of around eight percent, and General Motors rose eight percent as well.

Electric vehicle startups showed sharp increases, with Lucid up 46.6 percent and Rivian up 31.7 percent. Tesla also saw steady growth, rising seven percent.

Nissan gained 5.3 percent, Audi remained flat, and Volkswagen was the only major automaker to report a decline, down six percent.

We used to get those detailed sales reports - here, monthly. No we dont even get them quarterly.

  A lot of OEMs don't report monthly anymore. As for quarterly, I think we've hit them to some extent most quarters. We'll certainly try to do that going forward.

Wait till the new Bolt is available... GM gonna spike that chart!

All us delicate old people want a nice, polite little EV that never makes rude noises nor leaves droppings, and which is affordable even for those of us lulled into liberal arts educations.

  For many old people that have money they are buying their last rides. They want one last new vehicle and are willing to spend the money for it.

  A lot of older people with money are purchasing new vehicles for many of them this will be their last vehicle. The trend in new vehicle sales is older buyers purchasing higher trim models.

Andarris Here in the Toronto area I haven't seen a 2006-2012 with intact rocker pannels for over two years now. I presume everywhere around the Great Lakes is the same ? They were super cheap dhring the first two years of the pandemic - could get one with less than 85K for around $6500 certified or a little higher mileage for $5000. Glad I skipped it, even in 2021 some of the 10's &11's were displaying corosion like you'd see on a 7 year older Impala, Camry or Accord. Also the mid-model switch to EPS made me balk at the few clean ones I found.

I only fly out of PDX or EUG to LAS or OAK and OGG then back .. have never been delayed in the last ?30-ish? trips to vegas/disneyland/maui/cruise ship vacations.... EUG has contract tsa so we never have any TSA delays. unsure which airports have PRIVATE contract TSA that is UNAFFECTED by the deadlock that i HOPE NEVER EVER END.

Michael S6 The 3 Amigos better hope that the oil spike is short lived as 4-5 dollar a gallon gas would put a damper on their cash cows especially "Ford's strategic shift" of killing off the escape/Lincoln cousin. Most other automakers have a full line of vehicles with much better full economy. GM is sucking air and its Cadillac devision is mostly EV and geriatric line up of ICE cars and SUV's that were supposed to be phased out this year. The expensive gas may push shoppers toward EV but GM's horrible EV reliability is a barrier.
