Used Car of the Day: 2011 Volvo C30 T5

Today we bring you a 2011 Volvo C30 T5 with the rare six-speed manual.

I've a soft spot for C30s -- let me tell you why.

I am not sure I've ever driven one, but I found these cars cool and unusual in a good way when they launched in the mid-Aughts. I was going through a point where I was souring on cars and automotive enthusiasm a bit -- I was tired of working at car dealerships and taking a mental beating for not much pay, and I also wasn't finding too many new cars to be excited about. The C30 was a breath of fresh air at the time.

I digress. Let's get back to this particular car.

It has the Preferred Package, so it has a moonroof, fog lights, power seats, and aluminum trim.

It does have a salvage title, thanks to an accident, but no frame damage. The seller says it has a decent amount of expected wear, tear, and dings for a car of its age. They also say a long list of routine maintenance has been taken care of.

There's no rust, apparently.

If a manual Volvo that really only needs cosmetic work is your cup of tea, you can find this one in California for $6,500. Click here for more.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I like these and there are still quite a few around my area. If I had space I might consider one, but not a salvage title. I would like a fairly drama-free Volvo of any vintage someday.

Based on that license plate number, seller recently purchased this car and is looking to get rid of it already. They also deleted the post.
