Used Car of the Day: 2002 Nissan XTerra

Today's UCOTD is a very slightly beat-up 2002 Nissan XTerra. Again, not all cars featured here will be award winners. Some are just basic transport.

That's what this one is. It's an SE with a 5-speed, and while the exterior paint needs work, the seller says the interior is in good shape. Outside of the paint peel, the exterior is in good shape, too. It is two-wheel drive.

The engine has been rebuilt with lots of new parts, though some things with the vehicle don't work. The CD player doesn't play CDs and the hatch doesn't lock -- the seller says these things will be fixed soon.

You can pick this one up in Phoenix for $7,000. Click here for more.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE. YOU JUST MISSED THIS REALLY HIGH QUALITY BARGAIN SOLD TODAY AT bARELY $20k worthless corrupt Biden-silly Kamala dollars. BARELY used with only 4k or so miles, the real successor, TRUE to the ORIGINAL 911, the MANUAL Cayman was a STEAL. Says Doug de Muro: " The 987 Porsche Cayman is a fantastic sports car, offering great balance and a highly engaging driving character thanks to its mid-engine layout. This particular Cayman features the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, a nice color combination, and reasonable mileage for the year. It's also well equipped with the Preferred Package Plus, which adds bi-xenon headlights, self-dimming mirrors, and heated seats – and it's mostly unmodified, which is a great benefit. This looks like a fantastic Cayman, and I'm proud to offer it on Cars & Bids." https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3LE1VzQ7/2007-porsche-cayman

I had an 02 Xterra (auto). Loved it, NO Mech issues. (though, under hood you could see rust starting to develop everywhere). Wish I never had to let er go.
