Hey there campers, welcome back from the long weekend. Here we present for you a 2001 Nissan XTerra with a stick as today's Used Car of the Day.

Sopranos fans will note that it's the same color as an XTerra driven by one of the characters, though I believe that one was an automatic.

Anyway, this real-life XTerra has 214,500 miles on it, new front brakes, and new tires. Oh, and did we mention it's a manual?

The ad copy is pretty sparse, but I can tell you that the seller is selling it "as is" and it's in Tampa, Florida, for $2,500. Give the ad a click here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

worthless garbage, and 25 years old obsolete garbage at that. Take it to the scrapyard and SHOOT IT.

A friend had a low mileage manual X-Terra that he was very happy with some years back, so naturally some heathen crashed into it and wrote it off. If you are going to get an X-Terra, get the manual. The radiators like to merge the coolant and the ATF, leading to automatic transmission failures. Also, if there is a repetitive clicking noise coming from the dash, walk away. Switching out bad blend-door servos is an expensive pain in the butt. This bit of advice goes for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury panthers as well.
  • Lorenzo If it's over 30 years old and over 80k miles, and not a classic, it's a parts car, worth no more than 20% of original price.
  • Dusterdude No mileage noted on a 33 year old car means likely well north of 300k + miles , along with issues noted , should equate to an ask price of less than $3k
  • Ajla IMO, something like this really should be naturally-aspirated.
