Used Car of the Day: 1988 Toyota MR2 Supercharged T-Top
We're back with Used Car Of The Day*, and the feature restarts with this 1988 Toyota MR2 that's supercharged with t-roofs.
*UCOTD and QOTD went on a short break as I was out of office -- I intended to leave a note last week and forgot. Mea culpa.
This one has only 71,000 miles on it and offers up power door locks, power windows, cruise control, stereo cassette, and cloth seats.
There are some mods -- a TRD exhaust manifold, carbon-fiber brake pads, and Yokohama tires on 15-inch wheels. The 14-inch OEM rims will be included.
The seller has lots of spare parts available and recently changed all the fluids. The brakes are new, or close to it, as well. The only issues appear to be that the car is just 99 percent, not 100 percent, rust free; and it needs a fuel-level sensor.
If this car interests you, can find it in Ohio for $23,000. Click here for more -- fewer than 2,500 of these exact MR2 units were made.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.
