We're off on Monday for Indigenous People's Day here in the States and Canadian Thanksgiving up north.

Also, we're bidding a fond adieu to news man Chris Teague, who has taken a gig elsewhere in the industry. We thank him and wish him luck and a hearty congratulations!

As for Monday, there may be a post or two if news breaks, as per usual, but otherwise we'll be taking 'er easy.

Have a good weekend, enjoy the time off if it applies to you, don't drink and drive, and feel free to give Chris well wishes in the comments below.

See you on Tuesday.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Truth is if there was no Columbus there would be no Hispanics, let that sink in.

Yup. Spanish, the language of most Central and South American countries is a European language.

Happy Columbus Day. Just because you were a first squatter doesn't mean you are the rightful people of the area.
