Scout is Coming: Quick Look at Traveler SUV and Terra Truck!

Scout!!!!! Coming as an EREV first but BEV (fully EV) is still coming too. Side note: I’m 5’1” for reference. I got A LOT of comments on my social videos/shorts about how big these look next to me.

Yes, they do, they both have huge all-terrain tires on them as well! This is a quick walkaround of the two prototype Scouts: Traveler SUV and Terra pick-up. I love them both — which is your favorite? Personally, the bench seat doesn’t do for me!

Summary: Scout Motors Traveler SUV and Terra Pickup Preview

This video provides a walkaround of Scout Motors' upcoming vehicles: the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup truck, both scheduled to enter production beginning in 2027. The presenter highlights Scout's blend of rugged off-road capability, modern EV technology, and retro-inspired design.

Powertrains and Range

Scout originally launched as an electric-vehicle brand but will first introduce an EREV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) version of the Traveler SUV.

Key specifications include:

    • A four-cylinder gasoline engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery.
    • More than 500 miles of total range.
    • Approximately 150 miles of pure-electric driving range.
    • A fully electric (BEV) version with more than 300 miles of range will also be offered.

Traveler SUV Highlights

The Traveler is designed as a rugged, premium off-road SUV featuring:

    • Large 35-inch tires
    • Rear-mounted full-size spare tire
    • Electronic doors
    • Leather-and-denim interior trim
    • Unique "Earth's Plaid" headliner and speaker accents
    • Large infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster

The Terra pickup is positioned as an adventure-oriented truck featuring:

    • Large front trunk (frunk)
    • Available front bench seat, a rarity in modern pickups.

The truck shares many interior features with the Traveler, including:

    • Large touchscreen and digital displays
    • Two-tone leather upholstery
    • Heated and ventilated rear seats
    • Panoramic glass roof options.

Pricing and Launch Timeline

Scout says both vehicles are expected to:

    • Start at under $60,000.
    • Begin production in 2027.
    • Launch initially with the extended-range electric powertrain, followed by fully electric versions.

Overall Impression

The video presents the Traveler and Terra as rugged, premium adventure vehicles that combine traditional SUV and truck styling with modern electrified powertrains. The standout themes are long-range capability, off-road readiness, premium materials, camping-oriented features, and a distinctive design intended to differentiate Scout from other EV startups.

Along with the EV problem the price should start a lot less than "under $60,000". I just don't see a lot of them being sold.

No , we carry Jerry cans and can refuel very quickly .You take an ev suv off road and it will use a lot of power depending on the terrain .Good luck if you take your ev scout off road like we do with our Broncos .

  • YaMoBeThere This is an egregiously bad AI generated article, the middle of the article is repeated twice... but yea go ahead and nitpick about my comment pointing that out
  • Slavuta Is this Ok if I use OEM all weather floor mats? Yes, the ones that came with 2011 Mazda3 were not good. But the ones in 2017 Mazda6 are excellent. BTW, in that picture, Grand Cherokee on Kumho tires. Is this also an advert or just coincidence?
  • Bar170111344 "GM was on track to spend $31.7 billion on compliance technology through 2031."I'll just mention, that expenditure would have gone into research and development, and that would have driven U.S. manufacturing innovation. On the industrial side, R&D is necessary for U.S. manufacturers to remain competitive in the world. It's absolutely no surprise China is running rings around us. The prospective $ savings GM is looking forward to hasn't impressed the stock market. Year-to-date return of -5.65%. -7.05% in the last month. PE 20:1, inflated by the falling share price. Not to be insulting by any stretch, but it has never been like Mary Barra to get out ahead of anything. She's not an innovator and not a risk taker. She's a good engineer.Honestly - in that industry, which I worked in for decades, being regulated is like having a security blanket. You can be mediocre, blame it on regulation, and still make a buck. And with the federal government now digging an even deeper moat around GM and Ford, it's clearly suppressing American innovation and excellence.
