Summary: 2026 Acura Integra Entry-Level Trim Review
In this review, Jonathan Rivers from Drive Culture argues that the base 2026 Acura Integra may be the best value in the lineup, offering premium features, sporty performance, and excellent practicality for about $33,400 MSRP (around $34,000 with premium paint).
Key Updates for 2026
- Minor styling and feature updates.
- Marks Acura's 40th anniversary; the Integra traces its roots back to 1986.
- The standard infotainment screen grows from 7 inches to 9 inches.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now included.
Exterior
- Retains the Integra's five-door liftback design.
- Features:
- LED headlights and taillights
- Acura diamond-pentagon grille
- 17-inch wheels with Continental tires
- Smart entry and power moonroof
- Dual exhaust finishers
- Base trim skips some premium features such as parking sensors, LED fog lights, and A-Spec styling enhancements.
- Reviewer believes it still looks upscale and premium despite being the entry model.
Interior
The reviewer was impressed by the quality considering the price.
Highlights include:
- Soft-touch dashboard materials
- Leatherette seats and steering wheel
- Heated front seats
- Wireless charging pad
- Two USB-C ports
- 9-inch touchscreen
- 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster
- Power moonroof
- 8-speaker premium audio system
The cabin is described as modern, well-built, and more luxurious than expected at this price point.
Rear Seat & Cargo Space
- Surprisingly spacious rear seat with good headroom and legroom.
- Can comfortably fit three adults.
- Child seats fit easily.
A major strength is the liftback cargo area:
- 24.3 cubic feet of cargo space
- Comparable to many small crossovers.
- 60/40 split-folding rear seats
- Underfloor storage and cargo net included
The reviewer repeatedly highlights practicality as a key selling point.
Powertrain
Base Integra comes with:
- 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC 4-cylinder
- 200 horsepower
- 192 lb-ft of torque
- Front-wheel drive
- CVT automatic transmission
The six-speed manual is only available on the higher A-Spec with Technology Package, while the high-performance Type S uses an entirely different drivetrain.
Driving Impressions
The reviewer expected the base trim to be overlooked but came away impressed.
Positives:
- Strong acceleration from the turbocharged engine
- Well-tuned CVT with simulated gear changes
- Paddle shifters that can hold virtual gears
- Responsive steering
- Sporty, balanced chassis
- Comfortable ride despite slightly firm suspension tuning
Drive modes:
- Comfort: relaxed, efficiency-focused
- Normal: sharper throttle and steering
- Sport: noticeably more responsive, especially above 3,000 RPM
The reviewer notes that while enthusiasts may prefer the manual-equipped A-Spec or the Type S, the CVT version is enjoyable and more than adequate for most buyers.
Final Verdict
Jonathan concludes that the base 2026 Acura Integra delivers:
- Premium Acura branding
- Strong performance (200 hp)
- High-quality interior
- Excellent cargo capacity
- Modern technology
- Engaging driving dynamics
For buyers seeking a premium compact car around $34,000, he believes the entry-level Integra offers exceptional value and may be the smartest trim in the lineup, especially given the roughly $20,000 price gap between it and the high-performance Acura Integra Type S.

- Bar170111344 "GM was on track to spend $31.7 billion on compliance technology through 2031."I'll just mention, that expenditure would have gone into research and development, and that would have driven U.S. manufacturing innovation. On the industrial side, R&D is necessary for U.S. manufacturers to remain competitive in the world. It's absolutely no surprise China is running rings around us. The prospective $ savings GM is looking forward to hasn't impressed the stock market. Year-to-date return of -5.65%. -7.05% in the last month. PE 20:1, inflated by the falling share price. Not to be insulting by any stretch, but it has never been like Mary Barra to get out ahead of anything. She's not an innovator and not a risk taker. She's a good engineer.Honestly - in that industry, which I worked in for decades, being regulated is like having a security blanket. You can be mediocre, blame it on regulation, and still make a buck. And with the federal government now digging an even deeper moat around GM and Ford, it's clearly suppressing American innovation and excellence.

Is it worth it to get an Integra over a similarly specced Civic?
"Jonathan concludes that the base 2026 Acura Integra delivers..."
Well, being an employee of Honda, I'd say this car helps deliver a paycheck to Jonathan. Thus, the softball review.
Next up: Apple employee John Smith on what kind of smartphone he recommends. Surprise! It's an iPhone.
where's the Acura Integra? Is it hiding behind that white Civic?
Meh. That's the problem. It's ok, but at 35k large and with an engine that's a problem, why?
Sport Touring Hybrid Civic is better choice than Integra base. It's what the Integra should be.
That 1.5L is godawful, I'm glad Honda doesn't sell large quantities to rental companies because I would have another set of vehicles to avoid. I don't understand how in current year a drivetrain can have so much delay between the time you press the pedal and actually move, the lag/hesitation throughout the entire rev range makes it undrivable.
With a 1.5 turbo in a full sized car, no thanks. With a V6 for sure.
Acura -- LOL.
"Premium Acura branding" doesn't mean much. The Acura dealership experience does not rival Lexus or even Infiniti, and certainly not BMW, Mercedes or Audi. Civic Touring gives you same features plus a better sound system. Beyond the superior sound system the interior is literally identical except one says "Honda" and the other says "Acura." It's the better buy!
