QOTD: What Truckless Brand Should Enter the Fray?

Despite not really being a truck guy or having a need for a truck at present, I get irrationality excited whenever a brand that hasn't never sold a truck before -- or at least, not here in North America -- hints that it might enter the market. Or, in some cases, when long-dormant truck nameplates get revived.

So the Kia Tasman concept has got me interested -- even though it might never be sold here.

Of course, it's not a given that the Tasman would be a good truck -- or even keep that name. Or it could be fine but overshadowed by the existing models, since truck buyers tend not to jump ship.

Whatever, that's beside the point of this question. The question, which brand that either doesn't build a truck or builds them overseas but doesn't sell them in North America should do so, post haste?

Volkswagen might be the easy answer with the Amarok, but I am sure there are others out there.

Go ahead, be creative.

Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.
