Dana White Drops $1.5M on Ram's Rumble Bee, Gets a Viper-Powered SRT-10 Free
Ram brought back the Rumble Bee. The very first retail example just changed hands for $1.5 million, and the buyer is UFC President and CEO Dana White, who scooped up the one-off truck at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas on Friday, along with a customized 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT-10 thrown into the deal.
The marketing shots show the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT in the expected yellow-and-black livery. The truck White actually took home is different. It wears a hand-painted Molten Red Pearl and Diamond Black scheme instead. Under the hood sits the 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi V8 paired with a Direct Connection 3.0-liter supercharger, good for more than 900 horsepower.
The build list runs deep. Direct Connection Magnaflow stainless steel cat-back exhaust, satin black 22-inch wheels, custom bedside graphics. Ram developed the one-of-a-kind trucks alongside the UFC and accessory brand RealTruck.
Sweetening the package is the 2005 Ram 1500 SRT-10, powered by the Dodge Viper's 8.3-liter, 500-horsepower V10. This was the last hurrah before Ram split from Dodge in 2009, and Ram says it still holds the Guinness World Record as the "World's Fastest Production Pickup Truck." RealTruck reworked it. Viper-inspired graphics, custom wheels, two-tone paint, power running boards, and a soft roll-up tonneau cover round out the build.
The full $1.5 million hammer price, per Barrett-Jackson, gets split evenly between two charities. Half goes to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which funds educational scholarships for families of fallen or disabled military and first responders, and half to the UFC Foundation, which supports Hispanic charities.
The auction was timed to the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. "This partnership honors the extraordinary courage and selflessness of the first responders, military service members, and everyday citizens who answered the call in the minutes, hours, days, and years that followed," Ram said.
White staged the Freedom 250 cage fight on the White House South Lawn two months ago. The man knows a spectacle. Given the UFC's reported 700 million fans and 350 million social media followers, a fight staged in the bed of a Rumble Bee is not the strangest thing anyone has floated this year.

- Bar170111344 "GM was on track to spend $31.7 billion on compliance technology through 2031."I'll just mention, that expenditure would have gone into research and development, and that would have driven U.S. manufacturing innovation. On the industrial side, R&D is necessary for U.S. manufacturers to remain competitive in the world. It's absolutely no surprise China is running rings around us. The prospective $ savings GM is looking forward to hasn't impressed the stock market. Year-to-date return of -5.65%. -7.05% in the last month. PE 20:1, inflated by the falling share price. Not to be insulting by any stretch, but it has never been like Mary Barra to get out ahead of anything. She's not an innovator and not a risk taker. She's a good engineer.Honestly - in that industry, which I worked in for decades, being regulated is like having a security blanket. You can be mediocre, blame it on regulation, and still make a buck. And with the federal government now digging an even deeper moat around GM and Ford, it's clearly suppressing American innovation and excellence.

If I were handed $1.5M and told I could only spend it on cars at auction, I just can't imagine ending up choosing one (1) pickup truck with a few thousand in engine mods and an ugly-a$s paint job.
It is a charity auction. He gave a million and a half to 2 charities - whatever the cars cost. What are all of you naysayers that call this a waste doing for charity?
