Hey, wanna buy a racecar?

Here's your change with this 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. It has a rally build, courtesy of performance shop Rocket Rally.

It's a full build from a stripped chassis.

Features include a fuel cell, pre-wiring, and rally lights. There's also underbody protection, a roof vent, and motorsport steering wheel, seats, and belts.

There is some A-pillar damage because rally.

There's a turbo engine, front-mounted intercooler, custom radiator, racing suspension, and all the other parts and bits you need to go racing.

The seller says this car is not for beginners, but for someone with a bit of rally experience looking for a better ride without spending too much money.

Speaking of money, the ask is $87,500 CAD for this British Columbia-based rally car.

Well-heeled weekend warriors, click here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

  • Jbltg Exterior is a hot mess! Interior, interesting and different. Keep working on it, Hyundai.
  • Scott F1 is still a thing? (they should hold a race on dirt sometime...)(snark?)(ME??)
  • Ger65690267 I was just adding to it. I agree with the quality, just adding that the quality has endured beyond the initial ownership experience, so far.
  • Bd2 Hyundai needs to make their standard models more like the N-Line when it comes to handling prowess and the N-Line closer to that of the N (just without the extra power and heat mitigating components of the N). With the new front clip, the current Sonata is a better design overall than the melted "fluidic design" Sonata. And yes, the new key fob is not only too big, it's also hideous. When the new 2.5T hybrid system becomes available, need to get rid of the base 2.5L and just offer the Sonata with 2 hybrid powertrains.
  • Tom @OklahomaRichardThe 1950 chieftain in green has/had an ORANGE colored semi-transparent head. With a clear glass normal lightbulb.@NateAs stated, correct. No light up head. But as I already posted AND viewable in the web page's close up pictures the horizontal fins/wings BEHIND the head light up. BLOOD RED. You can easily see the color in the page's pics.
