The Nissan GT-R has been around for so long that it’d be easy to assume it would always be on sale, but that’s not the case. Nissan recently confirmed that the 2024 model year would be the car’s last, and to celebrate its sendoff, the automaker is releasing two limited-edition models.

The T-Spec Takumi Edition cars get carbon ceramic brakes, widened front fenders, and a Nismo traction control system. It rides on gold 20-inch Nismo Rays wheels and carries gold accents throughout, including the VIN plate and gold trim on the engine intake cover. Two colors are available for the car, including Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade. The GT-R Skyline Edition brings Nissan’s iconic Bayside Blue paint and a blue leather interior.

Pricing for the limited cars starts at $132,985 for the GT-R Skyline Edition and $152,985 for the T-Spec Takumi Edition. Both prices include a $1,895 destination charge. Nissan hasn’t detailed how many of each car it will sell but said that there will be fewer than 200 units available, which will likely result in some noteworthy dealer markups.

Though this is the end of the road for the GT-R, Nissan isn’t giving up on performance. The automaker said it is turning its focus to the “next era of exciting innovation in performance,” which is a nod to its electric ambitions. We’ll likely see an electric GT-R with solid-state batteries in the near future.

Most will go straight to auction and then to private collections to spend their life on axle stands.

That would be a hilarious day, which Tassos would drive such a car?

  • Tstew78 Aren't they a ZZ Top cover band?
  • JMII A few weeks ago we looked at Genesis GV60 (wife loved it) and without any prompting the sales guy said he could take $17k off. A few minutes earlier when I inquired about colors and availability (just as test since I already knew the answer) he claimed they didn't have many because they are selling so quickly. Well if that's true then why the discount? turns out they can't give these things away. I fully expect 50% off in 2 years when the leases get returned. I'll happy take a lightly used 70k luxury EV when its only 35k.
  • SCE to AUX Once the distortions of the uneven new/used subsidies are considered, it's hard to say what's really going on.But lower prices are probably going to be reflected in greater losses for the EV operations of these mfrs. H/K/G may be profitable already (?), and Rivian claims they will be by the end of 2024, but the other non-Tesla operations are all under water.
  • Kwik_Shift_Pro4X Wowzers!
  • SCE to AUX It's a trainwreck, Norfolk Southern style.
