NASCAR Returns to Chicago for 2025

It got a bit buried in the news about NASCAR heading, quite literally, south of the border to Mexico, but the series will also return to Chicago for a third year in 2025.

The event will use the same 12-turn, 2.2-mile street course that it did in 2023 and 2024 and is slated for July 5-6.

NASCAR has a three-year contract with Chicago and 2025 will mark the third and final year. However, there is an option to add two more years on.

“The Chicago Street Race Weekend has quickly become one of the highlights of the Chicago summer calendar, so we are proud to bring NASCAR back to this great city for a third year in a row,” said Julie Giese, Chicago Street Race President. “We look forward to continuing to build on the tremendous success of 2023 and 2024 to deliver one of the most unique sporting events in the country and continuing to help drive tourism to Chicago.”

After two years of excellent urban racing that was also marred by rain, let's hope that the skies stay sunny next summer.

  @The Oracle, Chicago’s crime rate has been falling. As more of the city has become gentrified. Also next week we’ll be shutting down our Greyhound bus station. So small midwestern towns no longer will be able to solve their Crime and homeless problems by buying their a bus ticket to Chicago.

Jeff How about Aspire for a new subcompact crossover from Ford because it aspires to be bigger and its buyers would aspire for a better vehicle if they could afford it.
Jeff Carlos Travares wants to cut costs by 1/3. I don't see Chrysler or Dodge surviving too much longer especially since they are being literally starved for product. The success of the new Charger could extend Dodge a few more years but a failure might be a quick end to Dodge. I could see Stellantis moving more manufacturing for Jeep and Ram to Mexico which I believe will eventually be the only surviving brands of the old Chrysler. As for the Durango if it continues it will not be for too many more years it is an outdated product that I doubt will be redesigned especially when Jeep has a comparable product. Stellantis needs to address the high dealer inventory level by giving better incentives and low interest rates to clear excessive inventory.
